The Dolomites are the archetype of specific scenery which is universally used to
define landscapes with similar features. In fact, the term “dolomitic landscape”
has been used to define mountains , that are characterized by similar features
from aesthetic, landscape, geologic, and geomorphologic point of view but which
are seldom comparable to the archetype.
